- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups warm milk
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons butter (melted)
Instructions
- Dissolve yeast in warm milk with sugar and let sit for 5-10 minutes.
- Combine dry ingredients by whisking flour and salt in a mixing bowl.
- Incorporate wet ingredients by creating a well in the flour and adding the yeast mix and melted butter.
- Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for approximately 1 hour.
- Shape the dough into a loaf after the first rise.
- Transfer to a greased loaf pan and let rest for 30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 30-35 minutes.
- Cool the bread briefly in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Store leftovers in a zip-top bag at room temperature for up to 2-3 days or freeze for up to a month.
