- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water (about 110°F)
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until bubbly.
- Add flour, salt, Parmesan cheese, garlic, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
- Knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm area for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Punch down the dough and shape it into a round loaf. Place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
- Let cool on a wire rack before slicing.
