  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 4 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the spaghetti until al dente according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  3. Brown the Italian sausage over medium heat in a skillet and drain any excess fat.
  4. Stir in the marinara sauce and let it simmer for a few minutes.
  5. Mix the cooked spaghetti, ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  6. Layer half of the spaghetti mixture in a baking dish, followed by half of the sausage mixture, and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Repeat this layering.
  7. Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil before serving, if desired.
