Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds chicken breasts or thighs
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Turn on your Instant Pot and select the ‘Sauté’ setting. Add olive oil and let it heat up.
- Season the chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Place the seasoned chicken into the pot and brown on both sides for about 3-4 minutes each.
- Add chicken broth and BBQ sauce to the pot, stirring gently to combine.
- Close the lid and ensure the valve is in the sealing position.
- Set the Instant Pot to ‘Manual’ and cook on high pressure for 10 minutes.
- Once cooking time is done, let the pressure release naturally for 5 minutes before doing a quick release.
- Remove the chicken from the pot, shred it using two forks, and then return it to the pot.
- Mix with additional BBQ sauce if desired. Serve on buns for delicious pulled BBQ chicken sandwiches.
Notes
