Description

A delightful twist on the traditional grilled cheese using sweet Hawaiian rolls and gooey Monterey Jack cheese.

  • 4 Hawaiian rolls
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Optional: Sliced tomatoes or crispy bacon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your skillet: Get a non-stick skillet hot over medium heat.
  2. Prep the rolls: Slice Hawaiian rolls in half, keeping them attached on one side.
  3. Butter it up: Spread butter generously on the insides of the rolls.
  4. Add cheese: Place the bottom halves of the rolls on the skillet, filling them generously with shredded cheese.
  5. Close and press: Place the top halves back on and gently press down.
  6. Grill to perfection: Cook for about 3-4 minutes per side until both sides are golden brown and the cheese is melty.
  7. Serve hot: Remove from the skillet, slice, and enjoy while that cheese is still warm!
