Ingredients

- 1 ½ cups warm water (about 100°F)
- 1 packet active dry yeast (or 2.25 teaspoons instant yeast)
- 1 ½ teaspoons fine grain salt
- 3 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Mix together the warm water, yeast, and fine grain salt until well combined.
- Add all-purpose flour all at once and mix until a sticky dough forms.
- Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel and let dough rise for 2-3 hours until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F and place the Dutch oven inside to heat up.
- Dust parchment paper with flour, scrape the dough onto it, and shape it into a loaf.
- Make slits on top of the loaf with a sharp knife.
- Carefully place the dough into the hot Dutch oven, cover it, and return it to the oven.
- Bake for 35 minutes, then remove the lid and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until golden.
- Remove the loaf and cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Serve warm with butter or olive oil, pair with soups or salads, or toast for breakfast with avocado or jam.
