- 8 oz thick-cut bacon
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella balls
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Wrap each mozzarella ball tightly with a slice of bacon. Use a toothpick to secure it if necessary.
- Roll each bacon-wrapped mozzarella popper in the panko breadcrumbs until fully coated.
- Place the coated poppers on the prepared baking sheet, arranging them with space between each popper.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and golden brown.
- While they bake, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the maple syrup and garlic powder, then simmer for about two minutes.
- Drizzle the sweet glaze over the baked poppers before serving or serve it on the side for dipping.
Notes
These poppers are best served fresh out of the oven. You can also serve with marinara sauce or spicy aioli for added flavor.
