Description
A delightful sweet bread with layers of cinnamon and sugary goodness, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- ½ cup softened salted butter
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar (for cinnamon sugar mix)
- 1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350ºF and grease a 9×5 loaf pan with butter or oil.
- Add the softened butter to a large bowl. Using a hand mixer or stand mixer with a paddle attachment, beat it until creamy.
- Mix in the granulated and brown sugars on medium-high speed until fluffy—about 2–3 minutes.
- Incorporate the egg, vanilla extract, and buttermilk, mixing until well combined.
- Sift the flour and baking soda into the mixture, gently folding until no large lumps remain.
- Mix ⅓ cup sugar with 1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon in a separate bowl; set aside.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the batter, and use a knife to swirl it in.
- Add the remaining batter on top, smoothing it out, and sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top. Swirl it in slightly with the knife.
- Drizzle 2 tablespoons of melted butter over the top.
- Bake for 50–70 minutes, or until a tester comes out clean when inserted.
- Let it cool for 20 minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
