Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease and flour a large baking sheet.
- Combine the butter, water, and cocoa powder in a saucepan, bringing it to a boil before removing it from the heat.
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt. Then pour the hot mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until well combined.
- Add the buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla, mixing until the batter is smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- For the frosting, combine cocoa powder, butter, and milk in a saucepan, boiling briefly before removing from heat. Whisk in the powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth.
