- 20 jumbo pasta shells
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well until creamy.
- Fill each cooked shell with the cheese mixture using a spoon or piping bag for easy filling.
- Spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
- Place the stuffed shells in the dish, cover with the remaining marinara sauce, and sprinkle with the rest of the mozzarella cheese.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool slightly before serving and garnish with fresh basil if desired.
Notes
You can customize the filling by adding sautéed spinach or mushrooms. For added flavor, a pinch of red pepper flakes can be included in the marinara sauce.
