Description

Delightful stuffed shells filled with creamy ricotta and mozzarella, baked in rich marinara sauce, perfect for cozy dinners.


Ingredients

  • 20 jumbo pasta shells
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well until creamy.
  4. Fill each cooked shell with the cheese mixture using a spoon or piping bag for easy filling.
  5. Spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Place the stuffed shells in the dish, cover with the remaining marinara sauce, and sprinkle with the rest of the mozzarella cheese.
  7. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Let it cool slightly before serving and garnish with fresh basil if desired.

Notes

You can customize the filling by adding sautéed spinach or mushrooms. For added flavor, a pinch of red pepper flakes can be included in the marinara sauce.
