- 1 cup whipped cream
- 1 cup shortcake or sponge cake, crumbled
- 1–2 tablespoons sugar
- 1–2 tablespoons lemon juice
- Nori sheets (seaweed)
- Optional: chocolate sauce or sweetened condensed milk for drizzling
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the sliced strawberries with sugar and lemon juice. Let it sit for about 10 minutes to macerate.
- Place a sheet of nori on a clean surface or sushi mat.
- Spread a layer of crumbled shortcake or sponge cake over the nori.
- Add a layer of whipped cream on top of the cake.
- Place a line of macerated strawberries across the middle of the sheet.
- Carefully roll the nori, starting from the edge closest to you, to form a tight roll.
- Use a sharp knife to slice the roll into bite-sized pieces.
- Serve with a drizzle of chocolate sauce or sweetened condensed milk, if desired.
