Ingredients

  • 8 oz. egg noodles
  • 1 lb. beef (sirloin or flank steak), sliced thinly
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp. hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp. sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, minced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the Egg Noodles: Boil the egg noodles according to the package instructions. Once done, drain and set aside.
  2. Heat the Oil: In a large skillet or wok, heat the sesame oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Sauté Aromatics: Add the minced garlic and ginger, and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Cook the Beef: Toss in the sliced beef and cook until it’s browned on the outside.
  5. Create the Sauce: In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, and hoisin sauce. Pour this mixture over the beef and stir well.
  6. Add the Broccoli: Incorporate the broccoli into the pan and cook until it’s just tender, about 4-5 minutes.
  7. Combine with Noodles: Toss the cooked noodles into the skillet and mix everything well to ensure the noodles are coated in the sauce.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Finish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
