Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups of water
- 2–3 tea bags of chai tea (or 2 tablespoons of loose-leaf chai)
- 1–2 tablespoons of sweetener (honey or sugar)
- 1 cup of milk (dairy or non-dairy options like almond or oat milk)
- Ice cubes
- Optional spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, etc.) for garnish
Instructions
- In a saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a rolling boil.
- Remove from heat and steep your chai tea bags in the boiling water for 5-10 minutes, depending on your desired strength.
- Remove the tea bags and stir in your sweetener while the tea is still warm, allowing it to dissolve completely.
- Let the tea cool to room temperature and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or until chilled.
- In a glass, fill it halfway with ice. Pour the chilled chai over the ice and then add the milk.
- Sprinkle some cinnamon or nutmeg on top if desired and stir.
