  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

Refresh yourself with this easy homemade iced chai tea latte, a delightful replica of the Starbucks favorite, perfect for summer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups of water
  • 23 tea bags of chai tea (or 2 tablespoons of loose-leaf chai)
  • 12 tablespoons of sweetener (honey or sugar)
  • 1 cup of milk (dairy or non-dairy options like almond or oat milk)
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, etc.) for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a rolling boil.
  2. Remove from heat and steep your chai tea bags in the boiling water for 5-10 minutes, depending on your desired strength.
  3. Remove the tea bags and stir in your sweetener while the tea is still warm, allowing it to dissolve completely.
  4. Let the tea cool to room temperature and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or until chilled.
  5. In a glass, fill it halfway with ice. Pour the chilled chai over the ice and then add the milk.
  6. Sprinkle some cinnamon or nutmeg on top if desired and stir.

Notes

Serve in a tall glass with a decorative straw. Pairs well with light pastries or savory snacks.
