Baked Spaghetti

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings
  • Diet: Omnivore

Description

A classic comfort food featuring tender spaghetti with creamy ricotta, gooey mozzarella, and a hearty meat sauce, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • Spaghetti
  • Ricotta cheese
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Ground beef or sausage
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Canned tomatoes
  • Olive oil
  • Italian seasoning
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and minced garlic; sauté until softened.
  4. Add ground beef or sausage, cooking until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  5. Stir in canned tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let this simmer for about 20 minutes to develop the flavors.
  6. While the sauce is simmering, mix the ricotta cheese with a pinch of salt and pepper in a separate bowl.
  7. In a large baking dish, layer half of the spaghetti, then add the ricotta mixture, followed by the meat sauce, and top it with the remaining spaghetti.
  8. Finish by topping with mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  10. Garnish with fresh basil, if desired, and serve.

Notes
