Description
A delicious comfort food that combines tender pasta shells with a creamy filling of ricotta and fresh spinach, all topped with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella.

- 12 large pasta shells
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 2 cups fresh spinach (chopped)
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese (shredded)
- ½ cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Fresh basil (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the pasta shells according to package directions until al dente; drain and set aside.
- In a large bowl, mix together ricotta cheese, chopped fresh spinach, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, egg, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Stuff each shell with the spinach and ricotta mixture.
- Spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
- Place the stuffed shells in the dish, then top with more marinara sauce and sprinkle with additional mozzarella cheese.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes; remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let cool for a few minutes, then serve, garnished with basil if desired.
Notes
You can use frozen spinach instead of fresh; make sure to squeeze out excess moisture. Additional spices can be added to enhance flavor.
