Description
A quick and delicious stir-fry bowl featuring tender ground beef, vibrant vegetables, and a savory sauce served over steaming rice.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1/2 red bell pepper, sliced into strips
- 1/2 zucchini, sliced
- 1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup steamed white rice
Instructions
- Prep all the vegetables by washing and chopping them as needed. Mince the garlic for both the beef and veggies.
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, add the sesame oil and minced garlic. Cook for about 30 seconds, or until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks, and continue until browned.
- Stir in the soy sauce, chili flakes, and brown sugar. Let the mixture simmer for 3–4 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly. Remove from heat.
- In a separate pan, heat the olive oil and sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds.
- Add sliced mushrooms to the pan and cook for 2 minutes.
- Incorporate the broccoli, zucchini, and red bell pepper. Stir-fry for 4–5 minutes until tender-crisp. Drizzle with additional soy sauce and toss well to combine.
- To serve, place steaming hot rice into bowls, and arrange the beef and vegetable mixture on top. Spoon any extra sauce over the meal.
Notes
Top with sesame seeds or chopped green onions for added freshness. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
