Description

This Spicy Ground Beef Stir-Fry Bowl combines vibrant veggies with savory ground beef for a quick and satisfying weeknight meal.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1/2 zucchini, sliced
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce (for the veggie mix)
  • 1 cup steamed white rice

Instructions

  1. Prepare all your vegetables. Wash and chop them into bite-sized pieces. Mince the garlic and measure out all sauces and seasonings.
  2. In a deep skillet over medium-high heat, add sesame oil and minced garlic. Cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it into small pieces for even cooking.
  4. Stir in soy sauce, chili flakes, and brown sugar, simmer for 3–4 minutes until thickened slightly. Remove from heat.
  5. In a separate pan, heat olive oil and sauté additional garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Add sliced mushrooms and cook for around 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Next, toss in broccoli, zucchini, and red bell pepper. Stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp. Add a teaspoon of soy sauce and toss well.
  8. To serve, place hot steamed rice in bowls and arrange beef and veggies on top or side by side. Drizzle any extra sauce over the bowl.

Notes

Best served with extra chili flakes or sesame seeds on top. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
