A comforting twist on the traditional dish, this Slow Cooker Bacon Cheese Green Bean Casserole combines green beans, cheese, and crispy bacon effortlessly in your slow cooker.


Ingredients

  • 4 (14.5-ounce) cans cut green beans, drained
  • 1 (10.5-ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 (10.5-ounce) can cream of bacon soup
  • 1/2 cup crumbled cooked bacon
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 1/2 cups French fried onions

Instructions

  1. Spray the insert of your slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the cream of mushroom soup, cream of bacon soup, cooked bacon, onion powder, garlic powder, and shredded cheese until well combined.
  3. Gently fold in the drained green beans, ensuring everything is coated evenly. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  4. Transfer the mixture into your prepared slow cooker, spreading it out evenly.
  5. Cover and cook on high for 2 to 3 hours or low for 4 to 5 hours, until heated through and bubbly.
  6. If you prefer a toasted topping, place the French fried onions under the broiler for 2 to 3 minutes until golden and crispy, then sprinkle them on top right before serving.
  7. Change the slow cooker setting to warm until you are ready to serve.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. For freezing, do so before adding the fried onion topping.
