Ingredients

- 2 cups water
- 2 bags black tea
- 1 inch fresh ginger (peeled and grated)
- 2 sticks cinnamon
- 4 pods cardamom (crushed)
- 4 cloves
- 1/4 tsp black peppercorns
- 2 cups milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 2 tbsp honey (or to taste)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
- Add the tea bags and the spices (ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, and black peppercorns). Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
- After simmering, remove from heat and steep for an additional 5 minutes.
- In a separate small saucepan, warm the milk over medium heat until it’s just below boiling.
- Remove the tea bags and spices from the steeped mixture using a fine mesh strainer. Pour the flavorful tea into two mugs.
- Slowly pour the steamed milk over the tea, whisking or frothing to create a frothy top.
- Serve hot and enjoy.
Notes
Try using non-dairy milk options for varied flavors. Experiment with spice levels to suit your preference.
