  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

A warm and aromatic drink that elevates your tea time with a unique blend of spices.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 bags black tea
  • 1 inch fresh ginger (peeled and grated)
  • 2 sticks cinnamon
  • 4 pods cardamom (crushed)
  • 4 cloves
  • 1/4 tsp black peppercorns
  • 2 cups milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 2 tbsp honey (or to taste)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
  2. Add the tea bags and the spices (ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, and black peppercorns). Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. After simmering, remove from heat and steep for an additional 5 minutes.
  4. In a separate small saucepan, warm the milk over medium heat until it’s just below boiling.
  5. Remove the tea bags and spices from the steeped mixture using a fine mesh strainer. Pour the flavorful tea into two mugs.
  6. Slowly pour the steamed milk over the tea, whisking or frothing to create a frothy top.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy.

Notes

Try using non-dairy milk options for varied flavors. Experiment with spice levels to suit your preference.
