Description
A charming and simple Rustic French Bread Loaf with a crispy crust and soft, chewy interior, perfect for any meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 410 grams all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon fine salt
- 1.5 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 300 milliliters warm water (38–46 °C)
Instructions
- Combine the warm water, active dry yeast, and sugar in a mixing bowl. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add half the flour and salt. Knead the mixture with a dough hook on medium-low speed, gradually incorporating the remaining flour until the dough is slightly sticky.
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured bowl, cover it with a towel, and let it rise for about 2 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Turn the dough out onto a well-floured surface, shape it into a ball, and let it rise for an additional 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 220 °C, placing the Dutch oven inside for 20 minutes to heat up.
- Score the top of the dough with a sharp knife and carefully transfer it into the preheated Dutch oven on parchment paper.
- Bake covered for 30 minutes, then remove the lid and bake for an additional 10 minutes until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches around 99 °C.
- Let the bread cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.
Notes
