Description

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon fine salt
  • 1.5 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 300 milliliters warm water (3846 °C)

Instructions

  1. Combine the warm water, active dry yeast, and sugar in a mixing bowl. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add half the flour and salt. Knead the mixture with a dough hook on medium-low speed, gradually incorporating the remaining flour until the dough is slightly sticky.
  3. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured bowl, cover it with a towel, and let it rise for about 2 hours, or until doubled in size.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a well-floured surface, shape it into a ball, and let it rise for an additional 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat your oven to 220 °C, placing the Dutch oven inside for 20 minutes to heat up.
  6. Score the top of the dough with a sharp knife and carefully transfer it into the preheated Dutch oven on parchment paper.
  7. Bake covered for 30 minutes, then remove the lid and bake for an additional 10 minutes until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches around 99 °C.
  8. Let the bread cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.
