Indulge in delightful red velvet cinnamon rolls topped with creamy frosting, perfect for celebrating love and special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk, warmed
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup softened butter (for filling)
  • Cream cheese frosting (for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, mix warmed milk, melted butter, egg, food coloring, and vanilla until well combined.
  3. Gradually combine the wet and dry mixtures. Knead the dough until it’s smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover and let rise in a warm spot for about an hour or until it has doubled.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle shape, then spread softened butter over the surface.
  6. Combine brown sugar and cinnamon, sprinkle evenly over the buttered dough.
  7. Roll the dough into a log and slice into 12 rolls. Place them in a greased baking dish.
  8. Allow the rolls to rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Cool slightly and finish with a generous drizzle of cream cheese frosting.

Notes

For a festive touch, sprinkle edible heart confetti on top of the frosting before serving. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
