- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour

- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar

- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (for chocolate topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a saucepan, combine water and butter. Bring to a boil.
- Once boiling, remove from heat. Stir in flour and salt until a smooth ball forms.
- Gradually beat in eggs, one at a time, ensuring the mixture is smooth before adding the next.
- Drop tablespoonfuls of the dough onto a greased baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden and puffed.
- Allow the pastries to cool completely.
- While cooling, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
- Slice the tops off the cooled profiteroles and fill each with the whipped cream.
- For the chocolate topping, melt the chocolate chips with the additional cream until smooth.
- Drizzle the chocolate glaze over the filled profiteroles and serve immediately.
Notes
For a dairy-free option, use plant-based butter and whipped coconut cream. Feel free to experiment with flavored extracts in the whipped cream.
