Description

Warm, chewy pretzel bites that are perfect for snacks, game nights, or family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 4 ½ cups all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled; add extra if needed)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ¾ cups warm milk (or water at about 110°F)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 9 cups water
  • ½ cup baking soda
  • 1 large egg (mixed with 1 tablespoon of water for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. In a stand mixer bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, warm milk, melted butter, and salt.
  2. Use a dough hook on medium speed to mix until a smooth dough forms, about 4-5 minutes.
  3. Cover the bowl and let the dough rise in a warm place for 30-60 minutes or until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat your oven to 450°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  5. In a large pot, bring the water and baking soda to a rolling boil.
  6. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces, rolling each into a ¾-inch thick rope, then cut into 1-2 inch bites.
  7. Carefully drop the bites into the boiling water for 30 seconds before transferring them to the prepared baking sheets.
  8. Brush the bites with the egg wash and sprinkle with salt.
  9. Bake for about 12-14 minutes, or until they turn golden brown.
  10. Serve warm with honey mustard for dipping!

Notes
