Description
Warm, chewy pretzel bites that are perfect for snacks, game nights, or family gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 ½ cups all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled; add extra if needed)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 ¾ cups warm milk (or water at about 110°F)
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 9 cups water
- ½ cup baking soda
- 1 large egg (mixed with 1 tablespoon of water for egg wash)
Instructions
- In a stand mixer bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, warm milk, melted butter, and salt.
- Use a dough hook on medium speed to mix until a smooth dough forms, about 4-5 minutes.
- Cover the bowl and let the dough rise in a warm place for 30-60 minutes or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large pot, bring the water and baking soda to a rolling boil.
- Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces, rolling each into a ¾-inch thick rope, then cut into 1-2 inch bites.
- Carefully drop the bites into the boiling water for 30 seconds before transferring them to the prepared baking sheets.
- Brush the bites with the egg wash and sprinkle with salt.
- Bake for about 12-14 minutes, or until they turn golden brown.
- Serve warm with honey mustard for dipping!
