Description

An elevated twist on a classic grilled cheese, infused with vibrant flavors of fresh pesto and gooey melted cheese.


Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread (sourdough or whole grain)
  • 2 slices of cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a blend)
  • 2 tablespoons of pesto (homemade or store-bought)
  • Butter or olive oil for grilling

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Spread 1 tablespoon of pesto on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Place a slice of cheese on the pesto side of one slice of bread, then cover it with the second slice, pesto side down.
  4. Spread butter or drizzle olive oil generously on the outside of the sandwich.
  5. Grill for 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown and the cheese has melted.
  6. Remove the sandwich from the heat, slice it in half, and serve warm.

Notes

For a crispy crust, use a mix of butter and olive oil for grilling. Adding garlic powder to the butter or oil can enhance flavor.
