- 1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs

- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup brandy or rum (optional)
Instructions
- Assemble all ingredients on a clean workspace.
- Chop dried fruits and nuts into bite-sized pieces.
- Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes).
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Gradually mix in dry ingredients with butter mixture, alternating with orange juice until combined.
- Fold in chopped dried fruits and nuts.
- Grease and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 325°F (160°C) for 60-75 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Notes
For enhanced flavor, soak dried fruits in rum or brandy overnight. Serve dusted with powdered sugar or with whipped cream.
