Description
A vibrant stir-fry featuring crispy tofu and umami-rich mushrooms, perfect for quick weeknight meals or gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 block of firm tofu, pressed and cubed
- 2 cups of mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 inch of ginger, grated
- Assorted vegetables (bell peppers, broccoli, or carrots)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the cubed tofu and cook until it’s golden and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove the tofu from the skillet and set it aside.
- In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the sliced mushrooms and any additional vegetables, cooking until they’re tender.
- Return the crispy tofu to the skillet and pour in the soy sauce. Stir everything together and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste, and serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
For best results, always press your tofu before cooking to rid it of excess moisture. Try different sauces like teriyaki or hoisin for a twist.
