- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies
- 4 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 4 oz. bittersweet chocolate, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the bowl. Mix until everything is smooth and well combined.
- Gradually stir in the boiling water.
- Pour the batter into each cupcake liner, filling about 2/3 full.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the cupcakes to cool completely before frosting.
- For the buttercream, beat the softened butter until light and fluffy.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar and cream cheese, mixing until smooth.
- Fold in the crushed Oreo cookies gently.
- Pipe the buttercream onto the cooled cupcakes.
- For the ganache, heat the heavy cream until it starts to simmer.
- Pour it over the chopped bittersweet chocolate. Stir until fully melted and smooth.
- Drizzle the ganache over your frosted cupcakes.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days or refrigerate for up to a week. Freeze without frosting for up to three months.
