Ingredients
- Spaghetti or linguine
- Olive oil
- Garlic, minced
- Red pepper flakes
- Cherry tomatoes, halved
- Fresh basil leaves
- Parmesan cheese, grated
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for about a minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the halved cherry tomatoes and cook until softened, about 3-5 minutes.
- Drain the cooked pasta, reserving a bit of the pasta water.
- Add the pasta to the skillet with the tomato mixture and toss to combine.
- If needed, add a splash of reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency.
- Stir in fresh basil leaves and season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
Notes
Feel free to swap out the pasta shape or adjust the garlic and spice levels. A drizzle of olive oil and extra cheese can enhance the dish.
