Description

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Add the halved cherry tomatoes. Cook for about 5 minutes until they soften.
  4. Drain the pasta, reserving some pasta water. Toss the spaghetti into the skillet with the tomato mixture.
  5. Incorporate the chopped basil, seasoning with salt and pepper. Add reserved pasta water if the mixture is dry.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese.

Notes

For a healthier twist, substitute spaghetti with whole wheat pasta. Pair with a side salad or garlic bread.
