- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, sliced
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1/2 cup fresh basil, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Parmesan cheese, for serving
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the halved cherry tomatoes. Cook for about 5 minutes until they soften.
- Drain the pasta, reserving some pasta water. Toss the spaghetti into the skillet with the tomato mixture.
- Incorporate the chopped basil, seasoning with salt and pepper. Add reserved pasta water if the mixture is dry.
- Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese.
Notes
For a healthier twist, substitute spaghetti with whole wheat pasta. Pair with a side salad or garlic bread.
