Description

Delicious gyros wrapped in warm pita bread, filled with marinated chicken, fresh veggies, and creamy feta tzatziki.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken breast, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 pita breads
  • 1 cup lettuce, shredded
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cucumber, diced
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken slices and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Cook the marinated chicken in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked.
  3. While the chicken is cooking, prepare the tzatziki by mixing Greek yogurt, feta cheese, lemon juice, dill, and diced cucumber in a separate bowl.
  4. To assemble the gyros, place a pita bread on a plate, add cooked chicken, lettuce, tomato, and onion. Drizzle with creamy feta tzatziki.
  5. Roll up the pita and serve warm.

Notes

For best flavor, marinate chicken for several hours. Serve with lemon slices and extra toppings on the side.
