- 1 lb chicken breast
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Pita bread
- Sliced tomatoes
- Sliced cucumbers
- Sliced red onion
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
- 1/2 cucumber, grated
- 1–2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Coat the chicken with the marinade and let it marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat or prepare your grill. Cook the chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side until fully cooked. Let it rest before slicing.
- Combine Greek yogurt, crumbled feta, grated cucumber, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix until smooth.
- Lay a piece of pita bread flat, add sliced chicken, tomatoes, cucumbers, and red onion, then drizzle tzatziki on top.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
For best flavor, marinate the chicken for up to 2 hours. You can also customize the gyros with additional veggies or a vegetarian option.
