A hearty low-carb casserole that captures the flavors of a classic Philly cheesesteak with ground beef and creamy cheese.

- 2 lbs ground beef (preferably 80/20 fat ratio)
- 1 large onion, diced
- 2 large bell peppers (any color), diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 8 oz provolone cheese, sliced
- 1.5 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray a 9×13 baking dish with non-stick spray.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the diced onions and bell peppers to the skillet, cooking for about 5-6 minutes until they soften and are fragrant.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
- Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Season with salt and pepper, cooking for about 7-8 minutes until fully browned.
- Stir in Worcestershire sauce and reduce heat to low.
- Mix in the softened cream cheese until fully melted.
- Transfer mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Layer the torn provolone over the beef, then top with shredded mozzarella.
- Bake for 22-25 minutes or until the cheese is melted and golden.
- Allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Best served with a side salad or cauliflower rice. Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days, or freeze for 2-3 months.
