- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese (divided)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a shallow dish, combine the bread crumbs, half of the Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and milk together.
- Place flour in a third shallow dish.
- Dredge each chicken breast first in the flour, then in the egg mixture, and finally in the breadcrumb mixture for an even coating.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the chicken for 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden-brown.
- Transfer the cooked chicken to a baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix remaining Parmesan cheese with mozzarella and minced garlic. Top the chicken with this cheesy mixture.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/74°C).
Notes
For extra crunch, consider adding panko breadcrumbs to the mix. Always use a meat thermometer to ensure your chicken is fully cooked.
