Description

Quick and easy Korean ground beef bowls with a savory, slightly sweet flavor profile, perfect for busy weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Cooked rice, for serving
  • Sliced green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until it’s browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and if using, the red pepper flakes.
  5. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, ensuring everything is well combined and heated through.
  6. Serve the beef mixture over cooked rice, and garnish with sliced green onions.

Notes

For a lighter option, you can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken. Add a fried egg on top for extra richness.
