- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (or to taste)
- 3 cups cooked rice
- 2 green onions, sliced
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks.
- Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes.
- Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the beef is fully cooked and the sauce has thickened slightly.
- Serve the beef mixture over cooked rice and top with sliced green onions.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, substitute ground beef with crumbled tofu or tempeh. Add extra vegetables for more nutrition if desired.
