Description

A stunning dessert that combines the creamy richness of ricotta cheese with the indulgence of chocolate cake, perfect for celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 2 (15-ounce) containers of ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 (15.25 ounce) box of chocolate or devil’s food cake mix
  • 1/2 cup canola or vegetable oil
  • 1 cup of water
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 (5-ounce) box of instant chocolate pudding
  • 3 cups cold milk
  • 1 (8-ounce) container of whipped topping, thawed

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 baking dish with cooking spray and set it aside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and 4 eggs. Mix well until smooth.
  3. Pour the ricotta mixture into the greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, oil, water, and 3 eggs. Mix until just combined.
  5. Carefully pour the chocolate batter over the ricotta layer, spreading it gently.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 40-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean.
  7. While the cake cools, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding with 3 cups of cold milk until thickened.
  8. Once the cake is cool, spread the pudding over the top, followed by the thawed whipped topping.
  9. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Serve cold for the best taste. Garnish with chocolate shavings or fresh berries for an elegant touch.
