- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 jalapeños, finely chopped
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
- Gradually add in the warm water and olive oil. Stir until a sticky dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, until smooth.
- Transfer the dough to a greased bowl, covering it with a clean towel. Let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Once risen, punch down the dough. Gently fold in the shredded cheddar and chopped jalapeños.
- Shape the dough into a loaf and place it into a greased loaf pan. Cover and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow the bread to cool before slicing.
Notes
Serve warm with butter or olive oil. Pairs well with soups and salads. Can be frozen for up to three months.
