Ingredients

  • 1 lb Sweet Maple Sausage (or spicy turkey sausage)
  • 8 large Eggs
  • 2 cups Milk (2% or non-dairy alternative)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp Nutmeg
  • 8 cups Day-Old Bread, cubed
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 1/2 cup Maple Syrup
  • 1/2 cup Fresh Blueberries
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Pecans
  • To taste: Salt & Pepper
  • Optional: Whipped Cream & Additional Maple Syrup for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the sweet maple sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and pepper until fully combined.
  4. Fold in the cooked sausage, cubed bread, shredded cheese, blueberries, and pecans gently.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until puffed and golden.
  7. Let it sit for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm, topped with whipped cream and a drizzle of maple syrup if desired.

Notes

Use day-old bread for the best texture. Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days.
