- 1 lb Sweet Maple Sausage (or spicy turkey sausage)
- 8 large Eggs
- 2 cups Milk (2% or non-dairy alternative)
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp Nutmeg
- 8 cups Day-Old Bread, cubed
- 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- 1/2 cup Maple Syrup
- 1/2 cup Fresh Blueberries
- 1/2 cup Chopped Pecans
- To taste: Salt & Pepper
- Optional: Whipped Cream & Additional Maple Syrup for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, cook the sweet maple sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat and set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and pepper until fully combined.
- Fold in the cooked sausage, cubed bread, shredded cheese, blueberries, and pecans gently.
- Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until puffed and golden.
- Let it sit for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm, topped with whipped cream and a drizzle of maple syrup if desired.
Notes
Use day-old bread for the best texture. Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days.
