Description
A delightful dessert combining rich chocolate flavor and moist bread, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup buttermilk
- ½ cup hot fudge sauce
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup hot fudge sauce, warmed
- ¼ cup chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes). Beat in the eggs one at a time and add the vanilla extract.
- Alternately add the dry mixture and buttermilk to the creamed mixture, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
- Fold in the hot fudge sauce and chocolate chips gently until evenly distributed.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack and drizzle with warmed hot fudge sauce. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts if desired.
Notes
For a fudgier texture, consider replacing buttermilk with more hot fudge or coffee. Can substitute different nuts or chocolate varieties to customize flavor.
