- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water (around 110°F/43°C)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle yeast on top and let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- Add the flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Stir until a rough dough forms.
- On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a loaf. Transfer it to a greased loaf pan.
- Allow it to rise again for about 30 minutes, covered lightly.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped.
- Let it cool before slicing.
