- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

- Add in the vegetable oil and salt. Gradually stir in the flour until combined.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm spot until doubled in size, roughly 1 hour.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.
- Let the dough rise again for 30-40 minutes until puffy.
- Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
- Allow the bread to cool before slicing.
Notes
For a chewier texture, substitute all-purpose flour with bread flour; for a richer flavor, replace vegetable oil with melted butter.
