Description

A hearty mix of seasoned ground beef, fresh sliced potatoes, and creamy mushroom soup, topped with gooey cheese. Perfect for busy weeknights or casual family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef with the chopped onion in a skillet, then drain any excess fat.
  3. Grease a baking dish, then layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  4. Add the beef and onion mixture evenly over the potatoes.
  5. Pour the cream of mushroom soup over the beef layer.
  6. Place the remaining sliced potatoes on top and season with salt and pepper.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.
  8. Remove the foil, sprinkle shredded cheese on top, and bake uncovered for an additional 10-15 minutes.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

You can substitute ground turkey for beef and use different types of cheese if desired. This dish also freezes well.
