- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 medium potatoes, sliced
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- 1 onion, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Brown the ground beef with the chopped onion in a skillet, then drain any excess fat.
- Grease a baking dish, then layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom, seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Add the beef and onion mixture evenly over the potatoes.
- Pour the cream of mushroom soup over the beef layer.
- Place the remaining sliced potatoes on top and season with salt and pepper.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.
- Remove the foil, sprinkle shredded cheese on top, and bake uncovered for an additional 10-15 minutes.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
You can substitute ground turkey for beef and use different types of cheese if desired. This dish also freezes well.
