Description

A crowd-pleasing appetizer made with ground sausage, creamy cheeses, and zesty Rotel tomatoes, perfect for any gathering.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground sausage (mild or spicy)
  • 1 8 oz package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 ½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 10 oz can Rotel (diced tomatoes with green chilies), drained
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper (to taste)
  • Fresh parsley or green onions (chopped, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and crumbly. Drain any excess grease.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix well until smooth.
  3. Stir in the cooked sausage along with the drained Rotel, cheddar, and mozzarella cheeses. Combine thoroughly.
  4. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Spread the dip mixture into a baking dish and bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until bubbling and golden on top.
  5. Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh parsley or chopped green onions. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

This dip is best enjoyed hot and pairs perfectly with tortilla chips. Variants include adding black olives or bell peppers for extra flavor.
