  • Diet: High Protein

Description

A creamy mac and cheese infused with the hearty flavors of a Philly cheesesteak, packed with protein from lean ground beef and a medley of colorful veggies.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz Dry Macaroni
  • 1 lb Lean Ground Beef
  • 1 cup Chopped White Onion
  • 2 cloves Minced Garlic
  • 2 cups Bell Peppers
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 8 oz Light Cream Cheese
  • 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella
  • 4 slices Light Cheese Slices
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chili Flakes
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Start by boiling a pot of salted water. Add the macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and minced garlic, cooking until fragrant. Toss in the bell peppers and continue sautéing until they’re tender.
  3. Push the vegetables to one side of the skillet and add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula. Mix the meat and vegetables together in the skillet.
  4. Lower the heat and add the light cream cheese, stirring until it incorporates well with the meat and vegetables. Gradually mix in the shredded mozzarella until melted and creamy.
  5. Fold in the cooked macaroni, stirring to ensure every noodle is coated in that luscious sauce. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and chili flakes to taste.
  6. Place the cheese slices over the top and cover the skillet for a few minutes, allowing the cheese to melt.
  7. Sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving and enjoy your delicious creation!

Notes

Perfect for busy weeknights or family gatherings. Adapt to your spice preference and feel free to substitute ground beef with chicken or chickpeas for a vegetarian option.
