Description

Delightful heart-shaped cinnamon rolls that are soft, fluffy, and infused with warm cinnamon, topped with a sweet glaze.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar for icing
  • 12 tablespoons milk for icing

Instructions

  1. Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. Warm the milk and butter in a saucepan until the butter is melted.
  3. Pour the warm milk mixture into the dry ingredients, and stir in the egg.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes.
  5. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl for 1 hour.
  6. Roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Spread brown sugar and sprinkle with ground cinnamon.
  8. Roll the dough tightly and cut into pieces.
  9. Bend each piece into a heart shape and place on a baking sheet.
  10. Let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.
  11. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  12. Mix powdered sugar with milk to create a drizzle icing and top the rolls.

Notes

These rolls can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days or frozen for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven or microwave before serving.
