Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch square baking pan and line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the unsalted butter.
  3. Stir in the granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and well-combined.
  4. Add the cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan.
  7. Place it in the oven and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  8. Allow the brownies to cool completely before cutting into heart shapes with a cookie cutter.
