A delightful twist on classic French toast using sweet Hawaiian rolls, perfect for brunch or breakfast gatherings.
Ingredients

- 3 large eggs
- 3/4 cup whole milk (or almond milk)
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- A pinch of salt
- 4 tablespoons butter (for cooking)
- 4–6 Hawaiian rolls
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, brown sugar, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
- Poke holes in the bottom of each Hawaiian roll using a toothpick.
- Dip each roll into the custard mixture for about 30 seconds on each side.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a nonstick skillet over medium-low heat.
- Cook the soaked rolls for 30-60 seconds on each side, until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve warm, topped with powdered sugar and fresh fruit or syrup.
Notes
For best results, use slightly stale rolls. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to a month.
