- 1 (12-pack) King’s Hawaiian Rolls
- 3 large eggs
- 3/4 cup half-and-half or whole milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- A pinch of salt
- 4 tablespoons butter (for cooking)
- Powdered sugar, fresh fruit, and maple syrup (for serving)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and half-and-half until smooth. Mix in the vanilla, cinnamon, brown sugar, and a pinch of salt to make the custard.
- Use a toothpick or skewer to poke holes in the bottom of each Hawaiian roll.
- Dip each roll into the custard mixture, soaking for about 30 seconds.
- In a nonstick skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-low heat, then place the soaked rolls in the skillet. Cook for 30 to 60 seconds per side until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve the warm rolls topped with powdered sugar, fresh berries, and maple syrup.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in a skillet or toaster.
