Ground Beef Philly Cheesesteaks

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: None

Description

A delicious twist on the classic sandwich featuring ground beef, melted provolone cheese, and caramelized onions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: sautéed bell peppers

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook until they soften and become slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon, and season with salt and pepper. Cook until browned, approximately 8-10 minutes.
  3. Divide the mixture into four portions. On each portion, place a slice of provolone cheese, and cover the skillet for a minute to let the cheese melt.
  4. Toast the hoagie rolls until golden. Fill each roll with the beef and cheese mixture. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Consider pairing with crispy fries or a light salad. For longer storage, wrap tightly and freeze.
