Description

A delicious twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak using ground beef for a quick and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 4 slices provolone cheese (or any cheese of your preference)
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • Olive oil, for cooking

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Sauté the sliced onions and bell peppers for 3-5 minutes until tender; add mushrooms if using, and cook for another 3 minutes.
  3. Push the veggies to one side and add the ground beef, breaking it apart and browning for 5-7 minutes until no longer pink.
  4. Stir in garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper; cook for another two minutes.
  5. Reduce heat to low, place a slice of cheese over the beef mixture, and cover with a lid. Let it melt for 2-3 minutes.
  6. While waiting, slice hoagie rolls lengthwise, keeping them intact at the bottom.
  7. Spoon the beef and veggie mix into each hoagie roll.
  8. Toast the rolls if desired and enjoy while hot!

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding jalapeños or different cheese types. Serve with fries or a salad.
